Making Our Own “House Rules”

Next spring, our team, "House Rules," a powerful collaboration between ChocolateCityRelay and Team Ignite—two groups of dedicated Black women runners from Washington, DC—will take on The Speed Project. We’re racing not just for the thrill of the challenge, but to raise awareness, empower Black women runners, and celebrate the strength of sisterhood. Our journey is a testament to what’s possible when you dare to create your own "house" rules, breaking barriers and inspiring others to do the same.

The Race: March 2025

The Speed Project is a unsanctioned, off the grid, grueling and exhilarating relay race that spans over 300 miles from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, pushing teams to their physical and mental limits.

Our why: our participation in The Speed Project goes beyond the race itself. For us, it's a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and empowerment for Black women runners, celebrate our sisterhood, and break barriers.

Each step we take and every mile we cover represents more than just a physical journey—it symbolizes our commitment to creating our own path and inspiring others to do the same. This race is our chance to highlight the importance of unity, perseverance, and self-belief within our community.
